Overview

SAMGYUP199 Congressional brings a taste of Korea to the heart of Quezon City with its straightforward, no-frills approach to Korean barbecue. Located conveniently along Lot 14 Congressional Avenue, this spot caters to those eager to enjoy unlimited samgyupsal without breaking the bank. The location is easily accessible by public transport, though parking for larger vehicles can be a challenge, which is worth noting for diners planning a group outing.

The main draw here is, undeniably, the samgyupsal—the grilled pork belly served in an all-you-can-eat style. The meat tends to lean on the fattier side, which some might find oily, but it adds a rich flavor that pairs well with their standout kimchi, frequently praised for its authentic zest. Side dishes, however, seem to vary in quality; while the kimchi shines, other banchan can feel underwhelming compared to the star of the table.

Inside, the dining space is functional with a simple, casual ambiance that supports a comfortable group experience. It’s a place where friends or families can gather for a hearty meal without formality. Staff are approachable and helpful, adding warmth to the otherwise basic setting. However, some attention to the cleanliness of the establishment would elevate the overall dining experience, especially given it’s a food service venue.

SAMGYUP199 Congressional is best suited for budget-conscious diners looking to indulge in an unpretentious Korean barbecue feast. While the oily nature of the pork might not satisfy everyone’s palate, the generous servings and approachable staff make it a favored stop for those craving affordable, tasty samgyupsal in Metro Manila. If you’re after value and a casual eatery with familiar Korean flavors, this spot is worth a visit—just come with an appetite and perhaps a bit of patience during peak hours.

The location is very accessible, nice food, crew/staff was approachable, limited parking (no parking for 4 wheels). The only thing that is not good was the cleanliness of the whole place, considered that it's a food business. But still, recommended for people looking for cheap but delicious samgyupsal.

The pork was mostly fat and it was really oily. We managed to get here before they changed the starting unli from 199 to 259. It took some time for us to get a table since there were 8 of us, but the table and atmosphere were nice. We were limited by the food though, it was, once more, really oily
